Kahului, Maui, HI – January 26, 2018 – Queen Ka’ahumanu Center announces the 2nd annual Heart Health Festival on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 10:00am – 1:00pm.
As an ongoing commitment to the Maui community, Queen Ka’ahumanu Center will focus awareness on Living Life with Heart for the month of February. The Heart Health Festival is the signature event of the month, focusing on heart health and stroke prevention. The festival will feature hands-on CPR demonstrations by Maui Fire Department, blood pressure screenings by Hui No Ke Ola Pono and Medical Reserves, The Women’s Cardiac Support Group by Kaiser Permanente, heart healthy Cooking with Kids by American Heart Association, along with a myriad of prevention and educational booths. A high energy entertainment lineup is scheduled including exercise demonstrations by Emperado Dance Fitness and Keoni’s Hot Lava Dance Studio, along with great door prizes.
Non-profit organizations, County of Maui and State of Hawai’i agencies, and service companies that focus on heart health are invited to participate with booth space. Application deadline is February 2, 2018.
“It’s so very important to continue to educate and bring awareness to heart disease and stroke prevention”, says Toni Rojas, Marketing Director. “The Center of Disease Control & Prevention says one in every four deaths is related to heart disease, so let’s get our community heart healthy now!”, says Rojas.
