QUEEN KA’AHUMANU CENTER ANNOUNCES KU MAI KA HULA – HANA HOU PERFORMANCE SEPTEMBER 10

Kahului, Maui, HI – August 25, 2017 – Queen Ka’ahumanu Center announces Kū Mai Ka Hula – Hana Hou performance on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Queen Ka’ahumanu Center is a proud supporter of Maui’s legendary hula competition, Kū Mai Ka Hula.  Invited Na Kuma Hula and their halau will perform as an encore to the 12th annual competition scheduled the day prior

which features award-winning hālau competing in solo and group performances. This year’s invitees include hālau from Japan and the U.S. Mainland, as well as Maui, and Oahu.

About Kū Mai Ka Hula

Kū Mai Ka Hula features award-winning hālau competing in solo and group performances in Maui’s premier hula competition. This year’s invitees include hālau from Japan and the U.S. Mainland, as well as Maui, and Oahu.  Male and female dancers perform both kahiko (traditional) and ‘auana (modern) hula stylings.  This year’s competition takes place on September 9 and 10, 2017.
