Let’s Get Out & Vote Together, also known as GOV!, is created in support of the Federal, State and County elections scheduled in 2016. “The goal is to encourage Maui County residents to be educated on the 2016 electoral candidates and feel motivated to get out and vote by absentee ballot, early voting or on election day”, says Toni Rojas, Marketing Director. “We have great opportunity to increase the number of voters in our county and Queen Ka’ahumanu Center is a central venue where we can bring all of our candidates, voters and potential voters together to learn more about each other”, says Rojas. “Voting is a powerful way to speak your mind and let your voice be heard”.
The event will consist of electoral candidate information booths, an array of entertainment, along with opportunity to win prizes. Public is invited and voter registration will take place on site for those 16 years of age and older.
Primary election voter registration deadline is July 14, 2016 with election taking place on August 13, 2016. General election voter registration deadline is October 10, 2016 with election taking place on November 8, 2016.
