Kahului, Maui, HI – December 9, 2016 – Queen Ka’ahumanu Center announces the “Live Local. Live Healthy” Festival on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 9:30am – 2:30pm.
As a commitment to the Maui community, Queen Ka’ahumanu Center will celebrate and promote healthy living for the entire month of January. The month is dedicated to the education of living healthy through lifestyle choices. The highlight of the month will be the Live Local. Live Healthy. Festival which will feature healthy cooking demonstrations to fitness activities, and more.
Non-profit organizations, County of Maui and State of Hawaii agencies, and service companies that focus on health are invited to participate with booth space. Entertainment will be ongoing throughout the day which will include culinary, aerobic, and strength fitness demonstrations. Prizes will be announced every hour.
“Our family fun event will appeal to all, from keiki to kupuna”, says Toni Rojas, Director of Marketing. “Special emphasis will be on our island-style living and how we can bring these healthy alternatives into our daily routine”, says Rojas.
The Live Local. Live Healthy. month is sponsored by HMSA, which includes free weekly activities. Activities and schedule will be announced in the near future.
