Kahului, Maui, HI – June 14, 2016 – Queen Ka’ahumanu Center announces the return of Kama’aina Nights, a locally grown Hawaiian concert series, scheduled for Friday, June 17, 2016 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, and every 3rd Friday of the month thereafter.
“We are so very excited to collaborate with KPOA and Sista Val on the return of Kama’aina nights. Our Maui community really enjoyed this free family event over the years and I had received many requests to bring it back. So here it is!”, says Toni Rojas, Director of Marketing. The event will consist of a Hawaiian entertainment opener, followed by a professional Hawai’i performer. “Bring the entire ‘ohana for a great evening and enjoy a Hawaiian plate special from L&L Hawaiian Barbecue at Queen’s Marketplace. Just mention Kama’aina Nights!”, says Rojas.
The first concert features Hawaiian music by Maui’s own Kalani Joseph, a graduate of the Musicians Institute of California and established guitarist who resonates his diverse culture and unique style. Followed by headliner, Nahelu, a Maui based band comprising of Corey Ribucan, Stephen Lanse and Brad Kahikina. Hailing from the beautiful slopes of Upcountry Maui, the band has been entertaining Maui with a combined roster of over 30 years. With influences such as Hawaiian, Country, Blues, Rock and Reggae, the band aspires to share a positive and inspirational affect with their music.
