Kahului, Maui, HI – January 28, 2019 – Queen Ka’ahumanu Center will celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Boar on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm.
The annual, high energy celebration consists of a martial arts presentation, firecrackers and colorful lion dance by Au’s Shaolin Arts Society. Chinese erlong (keiki) crafts will also be available for keiki 12 and under.
This year, Chinese astrology will celebrate the Year of the Boar, which is the twelfth of the twelve animals in the recurring twelve-year Chinese zodiac cycle. In Chinese zodiac, the year of the boar is a symbol of good fortune and personality.
